Renouncing Constraint

Renouncing Constraint is a series of sculptural tea light holders created through a process-led approach. The work celebrates the material language of metalsmithing and highlights the techniques embedded in its making, challenging traditional notions of preciousness and perfection. It explores the overlooked structures of urban landscapes and reimagines utilitarian objects, such as street furniture and fixtures, by transforming the ordinary into sculptural forms. The collection invites reflection on the similarities between the hidden infrastructures of urban life and the meticulous processes involved in making, highlighting how both are essential but often go unnoticed.
