I'm Fine

The medal comments on mental health and depression. The layered texture on the front portrays the bad feelings we keep to ourselves and build up inside. The back of the medal will be highly polished to represent the perfect image we project and pretend to be ok. The wording on the edges of the medal will read ‘PEOPLE ALWAYS ASK ME HOW I AM SO I SMILE AND SAY’ and then prompt the viewer to look at the back of the medal. There the sentence is finished with ‘I’M FINE’ shaped as a squiggly smile that suggests the person is not actually fine but rather pretending to be.
